Ok, so since Halloween is officially over, I am allowed to mention the ‘C’ word without judgment….. CHRISTMAS!!!
Christmas is my favourite Holiday by far. No matter how old I get, I still feel the magic in the air. The nights have drawn in. It’s cold and everyone is walking about all snuggled up. You can see your breath in the mornings when on the school run. You get to see the children's eyes light up with imagination and dreams when they watch the Christmas lights switch on. Greggs bring back their Festive Bakes! What more could you want? My daughter is 5 and a half so I think this is going to be the BEST year to date.
We have family traditions that I grew up with and have brought into my role as a mum, as well as ones that we have created ourselves, in our own little family of two. There are even more rituals when she’s at her Dad’s, which will ensure that the dream is kept alive for many more years I’m sure.
One of my favourite ‘new-ish’ past times, that’s in its fourth year now, is having the big man himself visit my studio.
Father Christmas. Santa. St Nick. He goes by many different names and is, of course, a very busy man! However every year he makes time to visit my studio. How lucky am I?
This year, with the wonderful Jemma’s help, we have transformed the top floor in the studio to look like his own personal living room. I knew what I wanted to create, and together we managed to get it all completed in two days.
We have included images from around the North Pole, as well as a little snap of Mrs Claus with her baked goods in hand. Not to forget one of Mr Claus’ reindeer too.
A wonderful local store called Roofrack Ragamuffin, has even provided us with a beautiful vintage Red Chesterfield chair.
They are a fantastic shop, and I highly recommend them for all your antique furniture needs, as well as much much more. They offer prop hiring too if you happen to be a fellow tog reading this.
Check them out here
We are lucky enough to have Santa in the studio for the day on Saturday 2nd December. We have already filled the morning with appointments and the afternoon is booking fast.
You can find more information on this over on my Facebook page here
Or pop us an email over via the contact form and we can get in touch with the information:
If you can’t make it that day, but would still like to utilise this setup, it’s available as part of our Studio Experience Session, as an extra element during this festive period. I’m sorry to say Santa won’t be able to make it, but we can get some fantastic images of your little ones nonetheless.
You can make an appointment by contacting us direct, but please be aware weekend spaces are few and far between. If you have been thinking about getting in touch I suggest you do so as soon as possible, so you don't miss out.
We are also very excited to announce that you can now purchase Gift Vouchers direct from our website.
Give the gift of memories this Christmas. You can buy your vouchers here
I for one am so excited about the next two months.
Now I am off to nestle snug in my bed, while visions of sugarplums dance in my head.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a goodnight.
