Creative Photography Workshops
Do you love photography?
I do, which is why I would love to invite you along to my photography workshop on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th March 2019 at Insole Court, Cardiff, South Wales.
Whether you are a complete newbie or a seasoned pro, I would love to have you join myself and my team for a day of shooting, followed by a second day of editing your own images!
I am a huge believer that photography can be shared and loved by all. We are all unique, we all see things differently, we all have different ideas, why don’t we work together and share our love of this wonderful and diverse art.
For this workshop myself and Jemma have planned a full day within Insole Court on the Monday, shooting in a variety of rooms with a range of models and scenes set up.
We have decided to theme this workshop around the Victorian era as we LOVE the outfits.
We have gown up models mostly, but we will have a few children too, some traditional clothing and our older models will be acting regal, but we are also going to turn it on its head in one of the rooms…… I won’t ruin the surprise, but rest assured you will have a great mix of images.
We took a few sample photos in December so you can see the location. We only used one room and a small area in the grounds however, so there is much more to see. What do you think?
I understand that it can be intimidating attending a workshop, especially if you are nervous about how to use your camera. I promise you though that we have all be there.
Jemma has only been using a camera for the last 6 months and she loves the workshops. She finds it great practice and with lots of friendly fellow tog’s around to offer advice and support she knows she will get some great results.
We have even been known to swap and share lenses so we can try different shots between the group!
Insole Court is such a beautiful location, their website describes it as “Nestled in the leafy Cardiff suburb of Llandaff. Insole Court is a mansion house with a rich history and an even brighter future. Saved by the community, the 160-year-old house has undergone essential refurbishments and the ground floor is now open to visitors.”
The workshop is currently priced at just £325 on our early bird special, going to £395 at the end of January 2019.
This includes a full day of photography as mentioned above, but also a second day at Insole Court in one of their wonderful purpose made rooms, where we will all go through our images and I will be on hand to explain how I edit my work, what my process is, the programs I use and the tricks I have gathered over the years that mean I get my images looking like they do.
In my opinion it's all in the edit and mastering this is just as important as masting the photography.
You can use this wonderful opportunity to hone your editing skills, or even learn them from scratch if this is completely new to you. We welcome all abilities and I will be on hand to give any support that is needed when it comes to this side of photography.
If you are a super dooper pro and confident at editing, then you can simply use this day to be surrounded by like minded people while you edit, and if you want to share some of your tips and tricks then please feel free.
I want us all to help each other. These workshops are not all about me showing what I can do, I want to help you discover your own style and watch that flourish over the two days.
I recommend you bring a laptop with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom installed and you can follow along on the day, but you can always take notes and try at home if you don't have one you can bring.
. . . . . . . . . . .
I have been in your position, reading and re-reading what is included in amazing courses and wondering if I should take the leap and invest in myself…… I will just say that I did it in September 2017 and it was one of the best experiences in my life.
I don’t think I would be where I am today if I didn’t treat myself and continue to invest in me and my art.
Since then I have been on more workshops and I continue to book new ones for 2019 myself as I love learning as much as I can about this amazing art, networking with like minded people and creating images that I can share with pride.
